Maddalena Tesser is born in Vittorio Veneto in 1992 and graduated at the Venice Art Academy in 2017. She was a student of the famous Professor Carlo Di Raco. In her research, reality never reveals itself in a single total vision, but as something unique that the artist is offering to herself and to the viewer.

Her artistic practice is a research for an authentic female identity, which means to witness its past and keep track of its memory.

A formal attitude towards the collection of images in large archives — mostly carefully chosen fragments of photographs from all kinds of historical, social and cultural contexts — gives her the ability to transform figures, objects and landscapes almost instinctively and let them become an expression of her visual poetry.

Her works are often reffering to a restrained gesture — to an unspoken, unexpressed end imprisoned elsewhere or that remains in shelter hiding from one’s own consciousness.  Within her large paintings or in the sequence of smaller portraits, the artist seem to costruct a minutely articulated armor. Light and flashing and at the same time hard as forged metal. In her work the female figures do not want to exhibit themselves — they inhabit their own body, wear their clothes or dress themselves with nothing. They armor themselves with skin, with flowing hair, with a gesture.

Maddalena Tesser graduated 2017 at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts in Painting. Working closely with many artists, she has been, and still is, an active member of AtelierF, the international renown venetian painting school founded and run by Professor Carlo Di Raco.

During her studies, she took part in several exhibitions such as : “aplaceforUrs”, project created by Urs Fisher, Academy of Fine Arts in Venice (2012), 98°Collettiva Giovani Artisti, Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, Venice (2014), Le Geometrie del Potere workshop curated by Aleksander Velišček and Nebojša Despotović at A plus A Gallery, Venice (2015). She actively collaborates with the association Fondazione Malutta, in many collective projects.

In 2019, She partecipated in the collective exhibition “If it is untouchable it is not beautyful” at Monitor Gallery in Rome and, in the summer of the same year, she was part of the “Simposio di Pittura” – a project by Luigi Presicce – at the Lac o Le Mon Foundation in San Cesareo, Lecce. She has recently exhibited her work at con Rolando Anselmi Galerie (The Hawt Show, 2020).
